It's time for another giveaway!!!! SingleGuyMoney will be 2 years old this month and to celebrate, I'm giving away gifts.

I sincerely appreciate everyone taking the time to subscribe, visit and read my blog. I enjoy sharing my financial story and I hope you enjoy reading.

The Gift:
I will be giving away 2 free gas cards worth $50 each. I am funding this out of my own pocket and not supplied by any gas company. I know the economy sucks right now and it's the summer traveling season. To thank you for visiting my blog, I want to make that next visit to the gas pump a little bit easier. I know I said in the last couple of giveaways I was going to give away a book but I think free gas can be put to better use.

The Rules:
  • One entry per person, duplicate entries will be disqualified. - Let's make this fair.
  • Contest applies to U.S. residents only.
  • I have the final say on the contest.
  • I will use a random online number generator to pick the winner.
  • You will have your choice of a Racetrac or BP gas card. If you win and don't have either store in your area, we can discuss other options.
  • Be sure you leave your email address so I can contact you if you win.

How to Enter:

  • The contest starts Thursday June 11, 2009 and will end on Tuesday June 30, 2009 @ 11:59pm EST. I will announce the winner in a post on Wednesday July 1, 2009.
  • All you need to do to enter is leave a comment on this post. I want to know - if you win, what are you plans, if any, for summer travel?
  • If you have a blog or website, mention the giveaway for an additional chance to win. You can also Stumble, Tip, Digg, PFBuzz, etc for an additional chance to win.
  • I would also hope that you will subscribe to SingleGuyMoney. This is not a requirement of the contest but it would be greatly appreciated.

If you are new or haven't done so already, please consider subscribing to SingleGuyMoney to be updated when there is a new post and to find out if you won!

We don't plant to travel much this summer, however, we own a boat so Gas is going to be a large expense for us this year. Count me in on the contest

Hey, enjoy your blog, not traveling this summer but could still use some free gas.

  3. Janine // June 11, 2009 at 8:51 AM

We plan on driving to st louis. So to say money we are staying with a friend. And we may go on a trip next winter to Arizona, to stay with a friend too. And, Idlewild park in PA for a day or two for my son. :-) I'm a fan of vacations, but we make it frugal.

I am being lame this summer - no travel planned at all. I am acdtually dog sitting for my traveling friends and relatives.

Thanks for having this! If I were to win, I'd use the gas card and with the money I "saved" I'd treat myself to a super nice lunch at one of the new places opening up around me.

I'm planning to keep my traveling local (and invite people to come visit me instead).

  7. Philip // June 11, 2009 at 9:11 AM

I will at least be driving 500 miles across Texas to go home for the 4th of July. Plus I will be doing some travelling to go to state parks, and nothing is close in Texas so I will be doing plenty of driving. The $50 giftcard would go a good way in filling up a tank of gas and support my driving of a nice big vehicle. (p.s. I work in the petroleum industry so the more people drive the better my job out look is! Keep on driving!)

  8. DLeavitt // June 11, 2009 at 9:25 AM

I'm planning a couple of trips to our family friend's house on Cape Cod. Conveniently $50 would cover just about 2 trips!

  9. jim // June 11, 2009 at 9:56 AM

Congrats on two years man! We're going to be visiting some friends in Europe this summer.

  10. Matt B // June 11, 2009 at 9:58 AM

I love giveaway, I giveaway all the time on my website as well.

Summer plans = July -Travel to Atlantic City for a week.
August - Travel to 6 Flags Great Escape with some teenagers in the community.

  11. Jennifer // June 11, 2009 at 10:16 AM

I'm not planning on much travel this summer due to saving my money and vacation time for a trip this fall. I do anticipate several trips up to the beach though-- about an hour away.

  12. BSquared // June 11, 2009 at 10:19 AM

gas prices aren't slowing our travel down this year, live in Jackson, MS and head to Tupelo for a family reunion swinging through the delta to pick up my Great Aunt so about 5 hours each way there, we try and take a trip to St. Louis every summer and see the Cardinals play, looking at early August between grad school semesters, and we will be flying to D.C. for a work/vacation where me and the wife are staying 2 extra days for site seeing so my job pays for my plane ticket and 4 of the 6 nights but her ticket and the other nights are on us. The joys and curses of working full-time and going to grad school at night will make it a busy next 10 weeks for the BSquared family.

  13. Garden Dan // June 11, 2009 at 10:46 AM

I am getting married in August, and for the honeymoon we will be driving from Long Island to Bar Harbor in Maine, then back to Long Island before finally returning to our home in PA. That's about 1200 miles in all. If I get the gas card I will use the money saved to take my soon-to-be-wife on the Dine-in Theater Boat Cruise with Diver Ed, which she really wants to go on :)

  14. Financial Slacker Chic // June 11, 2009 at 10:52 AM

I plan on traveling by car for two weekend mini vacations visiting family and friends this year.

  15. JenMarie // June 11, 2009 at 10:55 AM

Yay for FREE gas cards! :)
My summer travel plans...FL to meet up with all of my husband's family! FUN!

  16. nfmgirl // June 11, 2009 at 11:17 AM

Nope, I don't plan on going anywhere this summer. I have tons to do in my new house, and any vacation will probably be spent painting or ripping out the built-in desk or weeding the overgrown garden.

  17. SavingDiva // June 11, 2009 at 11:37 AM

This summer I am traveling back to the midwest for my sister's wedding. I am also keeping my fingers crossed that I will be accepted to a conference in D.C. I really need a vacation, but I don't know if I'll have the time (or money) to make it happen.

  18. Yana // June 11, 2009 at 11:39 AM

Now that's a great prize in these times. I just tweeted this for an extra chance. We don't have any plans for traveling this summer. There's just not enough money coming in for frivolous expenses.

  19. stalkermom // June 11, 2009 at 11:48 AM

Nothing concrete for traveling, but am considering going to Myrtle Beach in August.

  20. Anonymous // June 11, 2009 at 12:30 PM

Me and the girlfriend are planning a trip to either Canada or Chicago...depending on a few things. Opposite ends of the spectrum somewhat, but exciting nonetheless.

  21. Chris // June 11, 2009 at 1:32 PM

If you define travel as more then an hour away I travel into the city to spend time with friends quite often. Otherwise, a girlfriend of mine in Hawaii wants me to come visit. All I would need is the plane ticket...

  22. CrystalGB // June 11, 2009 at 2:27 PM

hi! thank you for the free give away!! my family and I are going to Italy in a week! we are driving about 2 hours to get to the international airport and the gas card sure would help with that cost! thanks!

  28. m // June 11, 2009 at 10:56 PM

I plan on going to Napa Valley which is just 1.5 hours from here. This would help a lot. Thanks. :)

  29. Blake Amick // June 11, 2009 at 11:08 PM

I plan to take a trip with an old friend to Orlando, FL. And, even though I can't drive there, I'm planning a trip to Greece in late summer. None-the-less, a gas card for Florida would be GREAT. ;)

Great blog by the way. Keep up the good work!

  33. Amy // June 12, 2009 at 11:17 AM

My husband and I will be traveling to visit with my family and our friends in southern California for the 4th of July weekend. Then, for our 3 year anniversary in September, we will be taking a 7 night Mexican Riviera cruise. (And we will not be going into debt for it, either, yay!)

  34. Brad // June 12, 2009 at 12:28 PM

We live in Southern California and we were planning on driving to Utah for some Eco-camping but with gas at 3.21 here we are starting to shy from the idea. I figure it will hit $3.89 or so. When we started planning it was 1.74 so at more than double it puts our goal cost of the trip out of reach.

  35. RDS // June 12, 2009 at 5:15 PM

I have 2 short weekend beach trips planned and a trip to Greece/Italy in the fall, so although the gas card won't help me out too much for that trip it'll help me save money!

  37. Dave // June 13, 2009 at 4:34 PM

What a generous idea! Thank you for the contest. Nothing serious planned for the summer, but we will be spending a week at our timeshare in Seaside on the Oregon Coast in September. Then off to a Caribbean cruise in November.

The gas card? If I win, it will become a gift to the Oregon Food Bank to help their delivery volunteers with their work to supply food baskets to those in need.

    Thanks again,

    Dave

  38. PointSpecial // June 13, 2009 at 8:13 PM

We're going to be making a few trips up to Wisconsin to see my 7 month old twins' grandparents, and my wife and her mom are actually IN New Mexico (from Chicago) with the boys right now. So, honestly, we'd use the card for our day-to-day driving... 'cause they're already on the biggest gas-guzzling trip of the summer!

  39. Dee from PA // June 13, 2009 at 8:19 PM

Great timing for gas card. We are going to many things this summer.

    1. Grandson b-day July 4.
    2. His brother b-day in August.
    3. Visit brother at Myrtle Beach.

We live in PA and this would help alot driving a Ford-250 to each visit.

    Dee from PA

  40. BrendaLea, the Prpldy // June 13, 2009 at 8:37 PM

I don't have any vacation plans this year due to finances, but should I be lucky enough to win, I would seriously consider taking my two Grandsons to a water park about 3-1/2 hours away. Thanks for the chance to win.

We plan on going camping within our own state twice this summer, so the gas card would be great to help pull our pop-up. Great giveaway...congrats on 2 years!

  42. Duke // June 13, 2009 at 9:25 PM

I plan to travel out of state if am contacted for job interviews. Gas will be costly as I plan to travel only by car.

  43. Karen // June 13, 2009 at 11:24 PM

Not much travel planned this summer just a few trips in state to visit friends and family.

Since I'm staying put this summer I'm house sitting for some relatives to make some extra dough! That's a plus!

Kids! You just never know what they will decide to do.

  47. Starshard0 // June 14, 2009 at 10:07 AM

I won't be traveling at all this summer. At least not too far. My job limits my free time so I don't get too much time to go anywhere.

We plan to travel up to Chicago this summer (about a 9 hour drive from Nashville) sometime after July 4th weekend. Also a short weekend trip planned to Memphis at the end of the month, the gas card would sure help out with gas expenses!

Awesome giveaway. We're heading accross state to visit family for the fourth of july.

  57. Rue // June 15, 2009 at 9:44 AM

My summer travel plans include spending a week on the beach in Florida with about 6 high school kids from my church and about 500 high school kids from other churches. This is my big vacation for the summer. I know a lot of people cringe (or run and hide) at the idea of spending a week with a bunch of high school kids, I couldn't be happier about the trip with "my kids".

My other trip this summer is a week long mission trip to Reynosa, Mexico. We will be working with an organization which ministers to the deaf community in Reynosa, runs a school, holds English camps and VBS in the summer for all the kinds in the neighborhood and works with the local government to build things needed in the community. This summer I believe we'll be working on doubling the size of the school, starting to build the office and dorm facilities for the ministry (so that they no longer have to rent space in a building) and finishing up some projects left over from last summer.
    Should be another great trip.

Thanks for the chance to win

Love your blog. I'll be headed to New Hampshire (from New York) in August for blueberry-picking season. $50 in gas might get me there (though not back!).

Happy Blogiversary.... what a generous way to celebrate!

We don't plan to travel this summer but we're planning a trip to New Orleans in October.

Being self emplyoyed, I am constantly traveling for my work as a photographer. Easing the sting at the gas pump a little would go a long way.

Hi and congratulations on 2 years of helping others save the bucks!

I would love to take a day trip to Virginia Beach or just save the money if gas spikes again.

    Good luck everyone!
