It's time for another giveaway and I am feeling generous for the New Year. To celebrate the New Year and reaching 150,000 visitors to the site, I'm having the first giveaway of 2009!!!!

The Gift:
I will be giving away a free $100 Target Giftcard. I am funding this out of my own pocket and not supplied by Target. I know the economy sucks right now so to thank you for visiting my blog, I want to make that next Target purchase a little bit easier. I know I said in the last giveaway I was going to give away a book but I think this is more fun and can be put to better use!!

Debt free by May... my wishes are with you. I hope to be completely debt free - mortgage included - by the end of the year. I've been able to pay down an extra $15,000 last year (making $45,000) and have 14 more months on my mortgage.
If I were to win the gift card, I would get the best ingredients I could at target super center to cook my girlfriend a feast. :)

If I win the giftcard I'll probably give it to my cousin who is a new mom. I don't really need it myself, but I would love to surprise her with it, especially since Target is her favorite store.
if we'd won, we'd probably buy diapers & baby supplies for our soon-to-be daughter. We've went though about six miscarriages & we're very blessed to have her finally come in another month.

If I won, I would stimulate the economy. I am on the hunt to buy a new tv.
I'd use it on various sundries (health products, socks, etc). Not exciting, but the unexciting stuff still costs money!
I would buy cat food & litter at Wal-Mart. We have 23 cats & kittens, mostly rescues, and the costs really add up.

I buy most of my household supplies at Target, so some of it would be used for that, some to buy stuff for my classroom, then I'd get something fun like a book or CD.

We're with you on the "get out of debt" mode. This year, we're working to save at least $6K while we continue to pay down "old CC debt". In three months, the last (of 3) vehicles is paid off, too.

I would use the gift card for essentials for my new home. I realized quickly that little purchases here and there add up quickly to furnish a home, and we're doing it frugally!

If I won the giftcard, I would use it for friend's baby gifts at Target as 3 of them are due in March, April, and May.
If I won I'd take my kids and let them get something as a treat.

I would probably choose Wal-Mart, since Sam's Club is close to us. Buying there is usually the best deal for my healthy cereal. And we get a few other staples there.
The card would definitely help in our goal to pay off at least another $4,000 of our debt by May. (We got under $10,000 right before the New Year, which means we eliminated over $4,000 in 6 months while making only $2900/month.) We're cutting corners where we can, but free groceries are always a huge help!
I would choose the Walmart Gift Card which I would put toward the purchase of a camcorder, so we can have a video recordings of special occasions.

I'd probably buy some kitchen supplies to continue my efforts to cook at home the majority of the time. If I couldn't find any kitchen cookware, baking pans, measuring cups, etc, then I'd probably use it for any necessary bthroom items. It'd save my household budget, and let me pay more towards debt.

I was in wal-mart last night and saw the cutest purple digital camera I would love to own.
I would select the Target card and hoard it until just after Christmas '09 and parley it into a $200+ card.
If I were to win I would like to use it to buy a new tire that I just noticed has a slow leak in it. Don't know if I can get just one tire but there is a Wal Mart that services vehicles across the border.

I would be so grateful to receive this gift card. My husband is laid off, I just had a baby on 12.26.08 and we already have a 4.5 year old and my normally well paying job is now nada and I don't know when it will pick up. We have a total of just under $1200 a month coming in at the moment and that won't even cover our mortgage, not to mention the rest of the bills. We still have hope that my work will pick back up and I try to find the odd design job to help add to the income, but it's few and far between. I would use the Target gift card to find a few supplements to my wardrobe. Panties, socks, stockings, that kind of thing. Maybe an inexpensive top or two, I've had mixed luck with them.
Then perhaps another surge protector?
With a Target giftcard...I'd buy cleaning supplies, toiletries and new kitchen utensils. All things that I need...none of which is budgeted!!!
I'd buy nylons! I'm a female attorney who just started a new job and it's bad enough that I have to pay 2x what my male partner does for dry-cleaning, but having to wear nylons too? So unfair! I'd also stock up on the food sales to donate to the local food pantry.
With a $100 gc from Targe, I'd take advantage of all the weekly deals I see on the coupon sites!

I would use the gift card to add things to my apartment. I moved in 6 months ago and went with the opinion of only buying things that I need, therefore, it still looks like I just moved in. :) I probably will get kitchen supplies and a very much needed vacuum.

If I won the card I would probably use it towards a GPS for my girlfriend whose birthday is in February. It would depend which store had the better price as to which I would choose.
As a new homeowner I would use the gift card to buy a few things I haven't yet gotten around to getting for the new place: more wastebaskets, additional cleaning supplies, etc.

A very cool giveaway...thank you! Let me think...well, we have 2 sons birthdays coming up in Feb. so I would probably use this giftcard to go towards their gifts/parties. This of course would help towards keeping us on budget, something that is very important to my husband and me. I don't think our kids still fully understand the importance of keeping to budget, but we are trying to help them grasp the concept. In fact, my husband is making one of our teenage daughters maintain our check registry currently to teach her some lessons. ;)

Since my wife and I just bought a house, if I won this card I would use it to buy stuff for the house. Probably putting it towards window coverings or paint.
Our cookware, which was not cheap and is not THAT old, has now developed rust on the bottoms and sides, A Walmart card sure would come in handy for a cookware repolacement!

When I win the Target gift card (one has to have a positive attitude!) I plan to buy wedding presents and baby presents for all the children of my friends who keep sending me wedding and shower invitations!
man, with a target giftcard (there's no walmart on the bus route here), i will most likely get groceries. and shampoo. and conditioner. those are important! and new towels. mine are kinda yucky.

First place I would ht at target are the dollar bins. I would stock up on their eye glass readers in different strengths and hopefully I could get through a year. I am always misplacing mine. Next I would buy something just for fun, like a DVD I have been wanting, a toy for my grand dogs and of course something cute for my first grandchild Xander.

I would use the certificate to buy supplies for an upcoming mission trip...they need things much more than me.
Hmmmm....$100 at Target. There's a good chance that most or all of it would towards Legos. Yes, I'm 33 years old and I like Legos. I might even get a set or two to share with my nephews (who are 5 and 8 and also love Legos and love that Aunt Rue likes to play Legos with them).
Another option would be to put the money towards a new television or digital camera. I want to get a new TV before the switch to digital in February and I've been thinking of upgrading my digital camera for a while now.

Gosh, I guess I'm going the practical route. I love SuperTarget here in IA, and I use them to price compare often with Groceries. It would definitely help with the budget these days. What a great contest!
